GAP Trail Elevation Overview:
The GAP is a former railroad grade that rises at a gradual rate of 1-2 feet per 100 feet  for 24 miles from Cumberland to the Continental
Divide.  Keep in mind that trains do not climb up steep grades so elevation maps appear dis-proportionate.  The railroad was located here
slightly downhill to Pittsburgh.
